Betty Beecher was one of 120,000 women who served as Cadet Nurses during WWII. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) talked with her about her years of service, and introduced a nonpartisan bill to honor America’s Cadet Nurses on Dec. 7, 2018.

Nurse Cadet Doris Kent's family has been working to get her the veteran status she deserves. She enlisted at just 17 years old and served her country when we needed nurses the most. She went on to be a nurse for most of her life, while raising six kids and building a life with her Marine husband.
Update: The Kent family is sad to say Nurse Cadet Doris Kent passed away on Sat., Jan. 5, 2019. She was surrounded in love by her six children. |
